Five Ways to Pamper Yourself in Five Minutes

ways to pamper in five minutes

It’s odd to think back to the time in my life before I had children.  I often wonder what on earth did I do with all that time on my hands?!  Now, it seems my days are consumed with chasing after toddlers (quite literally sometimes) as they run through the house playing.  Cleaning up the kitchen, 15 times a day…and yet it still looks like an absolute disaster every night.  Changing diapers, and washing hands covered in blueberries, paint, mud, bubble juice, and other mysterious substances.  And the list goes on.  But whether you have children and are a stay at home mom, work a full time job and then come home to your other full time job, or you are focused on a great career and always on the go – finding time for yourself can be hard!  So here are five ways to pamper yourself in five minutes…or 10. 😉

jade facial roller

Use a jade facial roller – Feels amazing rolling over your face, especially around your eyes.  There are times I tell my husband “I’m so tired my face hurts,” and this is the perfect remedy.  I have been using one of these for awhile.  I’m not sure about all the benefits jade facial rollers claim to have, but I can tell you it sure does feel fabulous!  It only takes a few minutes, and for an extra cooling affect, place it in the refrigerator for 10 minutes prior to using.

enzyme exfoliant

Enzyme face exfoliant – I love Vasanti Enzyme Face Rejuvenator, but I haven’t really tried any others 🙂  Just a few extra minutes to gently scrub my face with this exfoliant makes a noticeable difference in how smooth my skin feels.  Often I don’t have much time to put makeup on so I like to at least make my skin look and feel as nice as possible.

Smooth feet with pumice stone – I have super dry skin so using a pumice stone between pedicures is great to keep skin smooth.  It’s amazing how well they work!  Honestly, for me it really is the small things in life that are nice.

cucumber slices

Deep breathing with cucumber slices over your eyes – Call me cooky, but I must say this is an oldie but a goodie.  It is so easy to cut a few cucumber slices a lay back on the couch.  Just give your self five minutes to focus on taking deep breaths and relax!  There is a reason we tell our kids to take a deep breath when we need them to calm down…it really does work!  And the cool cucumbers to de-puff your eyes are marvelous.

Tennis ball back massage – Take time to relieve some of that stress and tension that we all hold in our neck and back muscles.  Just stand with your back against the wall and place a tennis ball between you and the wall wherever you feel a knot or tight muscles.  Hold the tennis ball over the sorest spot for 30-60 seconds (I know, slightly counterintuitive, but trust me it does help to loosen the tension).  Then gently roll the tennis ball around.  A great way to give yourself a little massage without turning yourself into a contortionist trying to reach behind your back.
