Friday Favorites – Best Teething Toys

teething toys

This week has been one of minimal sleep for my little one and me.  She is almost a year old and alas, still no teeth.  However, I’ve been thinking she must be getting teeth “soon”…for the past 4 months.  Daphne is putting EVERYTHING in her mouth and if she chews on one object that doesn’t suit, then she throws it down and is on to the next, as she searches for the best teething toy.

For me, it’s been crucial to have several of the best teething toys on hand to avoid the inevitable melt down that will ensue if she can’t find a toy to soothe her poor little gums.  And of course, the toy that she likes best depends on the day, or her mood.  But there are several go-to teething toys that I tend to try first.  One of them usually seems to do the trick.  So this week’s Friday Favorites – the best teething toys.

Clover & Birch Deer Teether

{Adorable wooden teether that’s easy to grasp.  Great shape providing numerous angles and shapes to massage sore little gums.  Eco-friendly alternative to other materials.}

Vulli Sophie The Giraffe

{This natural rubber giraffe is a little wonder.  My daughter loves to chew on the feet and front legs – or the nose.  It makes a cute little squeak too which she thinks is hilarious.  Only problem is the dog does not seem to like the precious little squeak as much as the baby does, so he barks every time she squeaks the toy.}

Montessori Baby Rattle

{Yes, this one is technically a rattle.  The little wooden rings make the sweetest sound.  My daughter will shake the daylights out of this rattle with the biggest gummy grin you’ve ever seen.  But when she’s not shaking the rattle, she loves to chew on the wooden end pieces.  And better yet, handmade in the USA.}

LexyPexy Croissant Teether

{Seriously, how cute is this thing!  Very eco-chic and made from sustainable maple wood, untreated and sealed with beeswax.  I’m not sure what it is about wooden teething toys, but my daughter loves them.  Entirely made in New York.}

Fruit Teethers

{This set of fruit teethers are amazing…each toy has a different shape and texture to chew on, not to mention the base of the toy is textured as well.  Easy for babies to grasp and made out of FDA approved silicone.  My daughter’s favorite is the clementine!}

Calmies Natural Teether

{I always feel better about giving products to my girls that I feel are safe and natural.  This teether is made from all natural rubber.  It is easy to hold and manipulate.  I love to put it in the refrigerator before I give it to her for a little extra calming.}

Baby Banana Teether

{This teething toy is actually a toothbrush as well!  It’s 100% food grade silicone, made in the USA.  As I said, my little one still does not have any teeth, but from the time I thought she started teething this has been one of her favorites.  The banana peel is a great handle, though she chews on that part of it too.  Seriously one of the best teething toys.  And dishwasher safe!}

HABA Magica Clutching Toy

{Another wooden teething toy that I think is so beautiful!  Both my girls have loved this toy and it has certainly withstood the test of time.  They enjoy rattling it around just as much as chewing on it.  The toy is made in Germany using wood that comes from sustainable forestry.}
